A court orders Som Distilleries' licences renewed, POWERGRID wins its ninth transmission bid this year, and Delta Corp gets ₹153 crore of GST orders.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered the state to renew Som Distilleries' excise licences within 15 days. The Bhopal brewery has been shut since February, and management has said it supplied about half the company's volume. POWERGRID won its ninth transmission project of the year. Delta Corp and its subsidiaries received GST orders totalling ₹153.5 crore plus interest. And at KPI Green, more than a third of the votes cast went against a related-party resolution.

The one to read first

Som Distilleries & Breweries said the MP High Court quashed the 18 June order that had rejected renewal of its excise licences.

  • The court directed renewal of all the company's manufacturing licences within 15 days of its 24 September judgment.
  • It awarded the company ₹1 lakh in costs against the state, and preserved its right to claim damages for the closure.

The Bhopal licence was first suspended in February. In Q1 FY27, the company's total income fell 49% year on year. Its ratings have been cut three times since June.
