Shyam Metalics signed a non-binding MoU with the Government of Maharashtra for a 9 MTPA greenfield integrated steel complex at Chandrapur, with an estimated investment of ₹50,000 crore. That is about 2.7 times its FY26 revenue of ₹18,552 crore, and more than five times the "~₹9,500 Cr" of capex its July presentation plans for the next 4–5 years (our arithmetic).

Tax, courts and regulators
- ideaForge received a Section 74 GST order for ₹54.59 crore of tax plus a ₹54.59 crore penalty for January 2022 to March 2024. The department says drones were short-taxed by 13 percentage points on the 5% charged; the company cites a 2025 clarification that the rate is 5% and will appeal. - Emcure Pharmaceuticals received income-tax penalty orders totalling ₹57.74 crore for FY2014-15 to FY2020-21, and is evaluating an appeal.
- Awfis Space Solutions lost an arbitration with Ruby Infotech over a lease: about ₹8.26 crore plus interest and costs; the company puts the net cost at no more than ₹6.3 crore and plans to challenge it.
- Snowman Logistics received a ₹2.07 crore income-tax penalty demand for AY 2024-25 and plans to appeal.
- Aether Industries won: a ₹4.26 crore CGST demand over tax credit on IPO expenses was dropped.
- Indiabulls Ltd was registered by RBI as a Core Investment Company; it says it will surrender the certificate if the registration turns out not to apply.
People
- ICICI Life Insurance: Anup Bagchi resigned as MD and CEO from the close of 13 October, "to pursue a new career opportunity outside the organization"; RBI approved him as HDFC Bank's next CEO on 1 October. Sidharatha Mishra becomes COO from 6 October and MD and CEO from 14 October or IRDAI approval, whichever is later, for five years. - Petronet LNG's board appointed Sanjay Kumar, Director (Marketing) at GAIL, as MD and CEO from 13 May 2027, when the post falls vacant.
Lenders: Q2 updates
- Punjab National Bank global deposits rose 9.90% from a year earlier to ₹17,77,097 crore and global advances 14.80% to ₹13,42,693 crore; global CD ratio 75.56%.
- Equitas Small Finance Bank gross advances rose 29.58% to ₹50,694 crore and deposits 19.03% to ₹52,483 crore; CASA fell 1.04% and the CASA ratio was 26%. It sold ₹110 crore of NPAs to an ARC in the quarter.
- Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services estimates Q2 disbursements of about ₹16,490 crore and business assets of about ₹1,46,300 crore, up ~15%; Stage-3 is estimated at 3.35–3.45%.

Operations
- Sobha reported Q2 sales value of ₹22,063 million and a record ₹58.62 billion for the half-year; it completed 1,391 homes.
- V2 Retail's standalone Q2 revenue rose 28.4% to ₹905 crore; it opened 49 stores and closed 3, ending with 427.
- Adani Ports handled 46 MMT of cargo in September (+11%) and 280 MMT in H1 FY27 (+15%).
- Sambhv Steel Tubes sold 1,13,591 tonnes of value-added products in Q2, against 89,562 a year earlier; total volume was 1,22,662 tonnes.
Deals
- Hindustan Aeronautics agreed to buy CAE Canada's 50% of HATSOFF Helicopter Training for nil consideration, making it a wholly owned subsidiary; HATSOFF's FY26 turnover was ₹80.95 crore.
- Aurobindo Pharma's US subsidiary bought A1 Biochem Labs LLC for US$15.247 million in cash, and its subsidiary Apitoria completed the purchase of 80% of A1 Biochem Labs (India), a contract research business.
- Mazagon Dock confirmed it is not pursuing a greenfield shipyard at Thoothukudi, after the project's joint venture chose another anchor shipyard; it is focusing on the Dighi (Maharashtra) and Dugarajapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) clusters, where it is the anchor.
Orders
- Transformers & Rectifiers won two "Large Orders" (₹100–500 crore band each): auto transformers for Damodar Valley Corporation and shunt reactors and auto transformers for GETCO.
- Knack Packaging won a three-year contract from a large US animal-nutrition company for about 60 million bags a year, worth about ₹150 crore a year.
Capital, stakes and credit
- Kabra Extrusion Technik allotted 37.6 lakh shares on a preferential basis to promoter-group and non-promoter investors, raising ₹141 crore.
- Shreeji Shipping Global's two promoters sold 1.99% in the open market to meet the minimum public shareholding rule.
- Ravindra Energy: promoter Khandepar Investments (30.49%) pledged 7.57 lakh shares, and promoter Narendra Murkumbi pledged 1 lakh.
- ACME Solar: Crisil revised its bank-loan outlook to Positive at AA-, with rated facilities raised to ₹2,500 crore from ₹1,500 crore.
